Classic Button-Down Gingham in Blue

We are particularly fond of gingham. The word comes from genggang, Malay for stripe … ironic in that it is now known as a check fabric. And that is why we like it - it is a cloth of glorious contradictions. Its neat check and rich colours means it works well in both formal and casual styles. Here we have created a button-down version, featuring our beautiful rolled collar and a slightly looser cut. But still all the great details are there, from the navy trim in the neck to the navy stitching around the buttonholes on the cuff, gauntlet and bottom button. And, of course, there is a hanger loop on the back. But here’s the great thing - wear it with a jacket and it will still look very smart. Wear it with chinos or jeans and you look totally relaxed.
