Tom Osborne

Tom, known as ‘Oz’ to his mates, came to Oxford in 2021 to read for an MPhil in Economics at Trinity College. Prior to this he was working for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s (CBA) Global Commodities and Trade team, whilst studying for a BA (Hons)/LLB at the University of Sydney. Economics is his great passion, and specifically, applied micro-economics.

While studying in Sydney, Tom played for Sydney University Rugby Football Club in the Shute Shield Competition, taking on the role of club captain in 2020. Upon arriving at Oxford in 2021, Tom signed a professional contract with Harlequins in the Gallagher Premiership. He made his debut away at Saracens that same year. Tom also represented Oxford as a Blue in the 2022 Varsity Match, coming away with a win. At the end of last season, Tom was elected as the captain of the Blues rugby side for the 2022/23 season. Tom continues to balance his rugby commitments between Oxford and the Harlequins.

Tom is pictured in our button-down Oxford in blue check. This is a shirt that will see you through every occasion. It’s the most versatile shirt you can own – it’s also the one we are most proud of. There is so much that sets it apart from the crowd. Look out for the beautiful, rolled collar, the buttons are positioned so it is not flat and lifeless like so many others; and the extra weight of the Oxford cloth, which gives the shirt body and drape. The detailing on both shirts is the same, see how that last button is horizontal, adding a bit of robustness, no bad thing for a front row forward! There is a hanger loop at the back and check out the buttons, there is a chunkiness there to give further strength. Finally, we have added our griffin logo, again in navy, but on the gauntlet, because we really don’t like to boast.
