Lauren is in her second year at Oxford studying law at Corpus Christi College. She’s looking to work in Corporate law after she graduates. Although open minded about exactly which area of law she’ll eventually specialise in, she’s attracted to the fast-paced nature of transactional M&A and restructuring work as she enjoys finding solutions to problems and negotiation. Equally the confrontational nature of litigation and disputes work appeals. The skills acquired and required on the rugby pitch will no doubt provide a solid foundation for both disciplines.

Lauren started playing rugby with her brother when she was six at her first club, Dixonians, in inner city Birmingham. She went on to join Worcester aged 13 where her team made the national finals at U15s and national semi-finals at U18s, the same year she joined Worcester academy. Having won her first Blue in the 2022 Varsity Match, where she also won player of the match, she’s excited to be captaining the side in this year’s fixture.

For Lauren the best thing about being a Blue is the sense of community within the team. An intense environment, where players have to balance a top-tier academic attainment alongside their commitment to high-level sporting achievement (as well as everything else going on in their lives!!). She’s incredibly excited to be heading back to Twickenham, where her favourite memory was seeing how much it meant to her family (especially her grandad) to watch her play at such a prestigious venue.
