HOW LONG WILL MY ORDER TAKE TO ARRIVE?

All orders are processed within 2-4 working days and you can choose between DPD Next Working Day, Royal Mail Standard or Next Day, and their international partners.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship internationally via Royal Mail and DPD partners. Please be aware that international shipments may be subject to additional charges by customs, such as duties and import taxes, charged as a percentage of the value of the shipment. This varies by country depending on UK trade agreements. It is the customer's responsibility to be aware of any additional charges prior to purchase. The Oxford Shirt Company is not responsible for these charges and is unable to accept returns where additional charges apply.

Can I change or add items to my order once it has been placed?

If you have any concerns relating to your order, please contact our customer service team by emailing internet@oxfordshirt.co.uk. Please note we will not be able to amend any order details once the order is dispatched.

How do I contact customer service?

For online order queries, the fastest way to get a response is by email to internet@oxfordshirt.co.uk, or you can call 01993 822298. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm.

What is your returns policy?

If you've changed your mind or you're not completely happy with your purchase, you can return items to us within 28 days for a refund or exchange. Items must be in their original condition, unwashed and unworn, with all tags attached. This does not affect your statutory rights.

How do I return an item?

To apply for your free UK return, please fill out the form at www.royalmail.com/track-my-return/pick-a-retailer. We come under the letter 'T' for 'The Oxford Shirt Company'. Royal Mail will email you your label and a QR code, which you can print at home or at a Royal Mail post office branch.

Are returns free?

Customers are welcome to one free UK return per order. A small returns handling fee of £3 applies if you are returning your order for a refund, to cover non-recoverable costs. For orders of 5 items or more, we reserve the right to charge a returns handling fee per product. If returning part of an order brings the order total below the free delivery threshold of £120, you will be charged a standard delivery cost against your refund. This does not apply to exchanges.

How long does a refund take to process?

Refunds can take time for our busy warehouse to process. Please allow 12 working days from the delivery date on tracking for us to process your refund. Due to fraud regulations, we can only refund the card used at the time of purchase.

Can I exchange an item?

Yes, you can exchange an item within 28 days, provided the new item is the same price as the one you originally purchased. If the item you've requested is out of stock, a refund will be issued instead. To exchange, please make this clear on the returns form provided, noting the size or colour you'd like instead. If you'd like to exchange for a different product or one at a different price, you'll need to return the unwanted item for a refund and place a new order.

Can I return international orders?

Yes. Returns from outside the UK are at the customer's cost for shipping and duties. Please ensure all appropriate customs information is included with your shipment. We are unable to bear responsibility for returned international orders that have been lost in transit.

Are there any items I can't return?

Yes — underwear cannot be returned due to Consumer Contracts Regulations. Gift Boxes and Custom products cannot be returned for an exchange or refund. Footwear can be returned provided it is unworn, undamaged and in its original packaging with all labelling and swing tags intact; we recommend trying shoes on a carpeted surface to avoid damage to the soles.

Are returns from the Burford store handled differently?

Yes — policies for items bought in person at our Burford shop and at shows vary. Please consult the terms on your receipt.

What if my item is faulty?

If you believe your item is faulty, please email us a photo of the fault to internet@oxfordshirt.co.uk before sending the item back.

How do I decide which size to buy?

For help in selecting which size to purchase, please refer to our size and fit guide located within each product page (under 'What size am I?'). When you receive your item, if the size or fit is unsuitable, please follow the returns process for a full refund.

How long has The Oxford Shirt Company been around?

Shirt-making has been at the heart of our business since it was founded over 30 years ago by Neil Lauder. Today, The Oxford Shirt Company is run by the next generation, brothers Mish and Ollie, who grew up in the family business.

What is an Oxford shirt?

The Oxford shirt originated in 19th-century Scotland, where mills developed a durable basket-weave fabric named after the University of Oxford. It was later popularised by English polo players who added button-down collars for practicality and style. Slightly heavier than poplin, the Oxford weave is breathable, holds its shape, and softens beautifully over time — making it a wardrobe staple suitable for both formal and casual wear.

Are your products sustainably made?

We're on a sustainability journey and continue to take steps to reduce our impact. We plant a tree for every purchase, and our packaging is 100% recyclable. At our premises we've installed cycle racks and shower facilities for staff, switched hundreds of spotlights to LED, and used reclaimed materials where possible — including flooring made from upcycled scaffold boards from projects on Balliol, Trinity, and St John's Colleges, Oxford. We know we have further to go, but as a family business, we're committed to keeping getting better.

Do you support any charities?

Yes — we proudly support the WellChild charity and have a number of sponsorship partnerships with individuals and teams that share our values. We're particularly proud of our partnership with Oxford University Rugby Club, given the Oxford shirt's beginnings and sporting heritage.

How do I become a stockist?

We work with a select number of retail partners. Please visit our Become a Stockist page on the website for more information and to enquire.

Do you offer corporate or bulk orders?

Yes. We work with businesses on uniforms, gifts, and corporate orders. Please visit our Corporate Enquiries page or get in touch directly to discuss your requirements.
