1. Collar

Place a soft tape around your neck at the adam's apple. Keep it snug but not tight — add a half-inch (1.27cm) for a comfortable fit.

2. Chest

Stand straight, arms relaxed. Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it level. Snug but not tight.

3. Waist

Stand straight and relaxed. Measure slightly above your navel, keeping the tape level and snug but not tight.

4. Sleeve length

Arm relaxed at your side. Measure from the centre of your back, just below the neck, down along the outside of your arm to your wrist.

5. Body length

Measure from the base of your neck where the collar rests, vertically down your body front or back, to where you want the shirt to end.

The Thermatex Quilted Gilet in Burgundy brings together traditional British manufacture, practical design and the distinctive quilted Thermatex fabric that has become a staple of country life.

Made in Britain and individually hand-cut, its 70% acrylic and 30% wool fabric offers welcome warmth without creating an overly bulky layer. The classic straight cut leaves room for a shirt or lightweight knit underneath, while the high collar provides added protection against cooler weather.

Practical details include a substantial full-length zip, two outer patch pockets and side vents for easy movement. The rich Burgundy colour works particularly well with classic country tones, denim, cords and Oxford shirts, giving the gilet a little more character while retaining its easy versatility.

From weekend walks and outdoor events to everyday layering, this is a functional British-made gilet designed to be worn through the autumn and beyond.
