Henry Cole

TV PRESENTER & RECORD-BREAKING BIKER

Henry is TV presenter, record-breaking biker and champion of the British Heritage Movement. Having forged a career spanning some 32 years in the TV and movie industry, Henry is best known worldwide as a TV presenter, immersing himself in his lifelong passion for motorcycles and the tinkering and restoring of vintage machinery.

Currently the presenter of numerous programs including World’s Greatest Motorcycle Rides, Shed and Buried, Find It, Fix It, Flog It and more recently Find It, Fix It, Drive It. As well as television presenting, Henry runs the production company that makes all the shows he fronts ... and a whole lot more he doesn’t.

Having directed over 70 TV commercials for household names such as Flora, Mastercard, Dixons, and TFL, Henry has also produced and directed movies working alongside Elizabeth Hurley, Joss Ackland, Andrew McCarthy and Julia Cox.

Henry is also the boss of Gladstone Motorcycles - not named after Henry’s great-great Uncle, William Ewart Gladstone the Prime Minister, but his great uncle Dick ‘Redbeard’ Gladstone, a true British eccentric who instigated Henry’s passion for classic British motorcycles at the tender age of eight! Gladstone Motorcycles manufactures the finest bespoke British custom motorcycles for discerning hooligans.

In 2013 Henry set a world land speed record for a pre-1955 750cc motorcycle, riding a Brough Superior on the Bonneville Salt Flats. Henry also holds the world landspeed record as the fastest two up on a motorcycle (sitting on the back) at 183.45 mph!

Henry is very public about his battle with Heroin addiction between the ages of 19 and 24. He is now three decades clean but remains heavily involved in trying to help other addicts and share his experience in battling addiction. Along with motorcycles Henry is passionate about fishing, classic tractors, cycling and most importantly his dog Jelly Bean, wife Janie and his two sons, Charlie and Tom!

Henry is pictured at his house, alongside his best friend, Jelly Bean the dog, wearing our button-down Oxford shirt in Blue and White Stripe. This is a shirt that will see you through every occasion. It’s the most versatile shirt you can own – it’s also the one we are most proud of. There is so much that sets it apart from the crowd. Look out for the beautiful, rolled collar, the buttons are positioned so it is not flat and lifeless like so many others; and the extra weight of the Oxford cloth, which gives the shirt body and drape. It feels great to wear and gets better with age.

Henry is also pictured wearing our Quilted Nehru Wool Gilet in Burgundy and our Raspberry Stitch Quarter Zip in Green. New to our collection and all season hero, it's perfect for the morning commute or weekend pastimes.

“Putting on my Oxford Shirt is like unearthing a gem in a barn find, a classic that’s got better with age, a bit more lived in with a heritage and story all of its own”
